The Uncommonwealth's love stretches from end to end of our little state and we have a special place in our hearts for Murray. How can you not love a place where Chris Thile, Jude Deveraux, Molly Sims, Tom Ewell, supreme wheel-spinning Pat Sajak, and Gordon Cooper (the sixth American to be launched into space.) walked; where radio broadcasting AND Hawaiian Tropic were invented; where Kris Kristofferson poured a bottle of Jack in the college's baby grand piano?

And one of the great things about Murray is Murray High School -- home of the Tigers. On the turf, Murray High had undefeated regular seasons in 2009 and 2010 and reached the third or fourth round of KHSAA Class AA Playoffs each year from 2009-2014. On the hardwood, the Lady TIgers count two back to back KHSAA Final Four appearances in 2016 and 2017, along with a 2016 Class A state championship. And the Murray High band has performed at Carnegie Hall and were named National Marching Band Champ in 1977.

In 2016, the Murray Independent School District ranked number 1 per the Kentucky Performance Rating of Academic Performance (KDE), while 400 plus state-approved individuals logged more than 25,000 each year, as well as an active school-business partnership program, which actively nurtures the MISD daily guidance to its students.
