MAYFIELD CLOTHIERS - KITTY LEAGUE CHAMPS Short sleeve t-shirt

  • Sale
  • Regular price $27.95

Mayfield had a couple of teams in the Kitty League -- the Pantsmakers, Browns, and Clothiers, named for their sponsor, the Merit Clothing Company. The team played in Graves County War Memorial Stadium (pictured on the left) and were season champs (second half) in 1954.

One of the great stories of the Clothiers was about Mickey Stubblefield, a former Negro Leagues pitcher (schooled by the great Satchel Paige) and the first Black player allowed to play in the league. The league was a little skittish about Mickey's safety and only allowed him to play home games. To Mickey, everyone in Mayfield, and all of us boys of summer, whaddya say we all buy one of these shirts and wear it proudly?

The tri-blend fabric creates a vintage, fitted look. And extreme durability makes this t-shirt withstand repeated washings and still remain super comfortable. NOTE: Please make sure this shirt fits your size needs. See chart below:
